From the Hotel) Puigcerdà is the capital of the Spanish Cerdaña. It is interesting to visit there its lake and its surroundings. In the center of the city we discover the octagonal belfry from the old Santa Maria's Church, that can be seen from any point of the city and it is the only remains left of it. We also recommend to spend an afternoon on the ice rink, where we'll enjoy an uncommon sport, ice skating. Llivia (23 km from the Hotel) Llivia is 6 km from Puigcerdà. It is a Spanish village located inside the French territory, a real particular case. It is very interesting to visit the pharmacy museum (the oldest in Europe) run from 1415 to 1923 by the Esteva's, and also the fortified building of the Mare de Déu Church, Romanesque of the XII century. In August there is a classical music festival in which take part musicians and orchestras from all over the world. Andorra (50 km from the Hotel) The perfect place to do your free taxes shopping. It is also interesting to visit the Sanctuary of Meritxell, the patron Virgin of Andorra. We recommend also the visit to the thermo ludic complex of Caldea, where you could enjoy the thermal waters. Parc Animalier des Angles (45 km from the Hotel) The wild animals from the Pyrenees on their own natural habitat. It is a visit suitable for the whole family that we could make by two marked routes: one of 3.500m or another shorter of 1.509m. In this enclosure we could see very curious animals like the chamois, the bison, the fallow deer, the marmot, the wolf… and also the Pyrenees bear. Castellar de n'Hug (25 km from the Hotel) This town is the highest mountain village of Cataluña, it is located at 1.450m above the sea level. In Castellar it is interesting to visit its typical mountain constructions, as well as taste its well-known cheeses, cold meats and breads. We can also visit the springs of river Llobregat and the wonderful landscapes and waterfalls that surround this town. On the last Sunday of August takes place the sheepdogs international competition, where we could admire the ability of these dogs to drive the flocks.
